Power Rankings S01W07: Did the Have the Seahawks reached their soaring height? AFC North about to take over?

Rankologist: Keraun Senior Editor: Arod Analyst: Arod, Keraun, Dot, Burn Graphics: TBA (Inquire within)   🔥 Biggest Risers: • Bengals ⬆️13 • Browns ⬆️6 • Commanders ⬆️3 • Giants, Cowboys, Jets, Falcons, Ravens all ⬆️3–4   ❄️ Biggest Fallers: • Patriots ⬇️10 • Bills ⬇️8 • Packers ⬇️7 • Lions ⬇️5 1. Philadelphia Eagles (5-0, -): The Eagles remain at #1. They are currently out-rushing their opponents by an average of 150 yards per game. They simply wear teams out on the ground. With Saquon and Jalen Hurts combining for 15 rush touchdowns.   2. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-0, -): The battle of the undefeated teams results in a Jaguars win. The Seahawks were able to hold the high flying Jaguars offense to just 186 passing yards, however, Coach Ke proved that this team isn’t one dimensional. Etienne and Lawrence ran for over 150 yards and 4 touchdowns combined. The expectation is superbowl or bust in Jacksonville and games like this will help in that endeavor.     3. Houston Texans (4-1, +2): They had a bye this week, which didn’t help in the way of gaining any traction to the division crown. They were able to rest up, and hopefully came up with a way to stop this almost unstoppable Jaguars team. They are one of the best teams in the AFC in its current state, however, that could change in the second half of the season. They will need to keep winning to ensure they stay atop of the division and playoff race. They play the same Seahawks team next and it will be interesting to see if they can get the same result as the Jaguars.     4. Washington Commanders (5-1, +3): Huge win for Que and the Commanders in his return. They pick up a big win against Chicago in a game that could be pivotal for playoff seeding. The defense stepped up big time, forcing 4 interceptions from Caleb Williams. It is a shame we don't see them play the Eagles until week 16.   5. Chicago Bears (4-1, -2): Bears get handed their first loss at the hands of the Commanders. It turned out to be an offensive game and the Commanders did exactly what they needed to do- score over 50 points while forcing turnovers on defense. Caleb may have played himself out of the MVP race with 4 interceptions in the loss. The Bears will more than likely get back to their winning ways next week against the Saints.   6. Seattle Seahawks (5-1, -2): C-Brooks has the Hawks soaring, but the Jaguars handed them their first L. Milroe is cooking with 14 TDs, Walker and Charbonnet balance the ground game, and this team still looks like an NFC contender.   7. Cleveland Browns (3-3, +6): The Browns get to .500 and climb 6 spots solely on the history and potential of their coach Spdot. The defense continues to play lights out, while the offense has yet to really go going early in the season. Is Sanders the quarterback of the future or will the Browns address the position come offseason?   8. Arizona Cardinals (4-2, +2): Miles has the Cards buzzing with a huge win. Murray’s dropped 25 TDs, Harrison Jr. and McBride are a nightmare duo, and this offense is putting up video game numbers. Defense bends and breaks, but they’re winning shootouts.   9. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-3, -3): DK and the Steelers played a hell of a game against the Browns this past week but it wasn’t enough as they fell by 3 points at home. The team continues to struggle in the rushing department as they rank dead last in the league through 6 weeks. I also wonder if the city of Pittsburgh will rally behind getting Rodgers back in the starting lineup at some point this season. Ridder cannot possibly be the quarterback of the future, or can he? I mean Rodgers was flawless under center.   10. Denver Broncos (4-2, -2) fallens High-powered passing attack with Bo Nix (2,373 yds, 17 TDs), but back-to-back losses show their defense needs to tighten up.   11. Minnesota Vikings (3-2, +3): The Vikings leave the bye week and could potentially become the next victim of the undefeated Eagles. Rumor has it that Justin Jefferson is unhappy with his usage thus far into the campaign as he doesnt even crack the top 3 in receiving on his own team with 256 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Why pay the man 17 million a season if Adam Thielen, Aaron Jones, and TJ Hockenson could carry the load through the air?   12. Indianapolis Colts (3-3, -3): The Colts needed this game badly. They can’t afford to lose out on these close games. They have the second toughest division in the league and need to trade win for win if they have any shot at the playoffs. With the way the Jaguars are playing, 3 losses might be too much to fight for the division crown. Richardson was put on the block after this game and it’s interesting because although he didn’t do much passing, he was the Colts main contributor in the run game. We’ll see if a switch is main with Jones waiting in the wings to take over.     13. New York Giants (3-2, +4): As I am writing this we are still waiting to see Burn and the Giants take on the top ranked Eagles. They have the defensive line to hang with Philly’s offense, but can they do enough with their offense to pull out the win? We shall see, but I do not expect the Giants to go down easy   14. Dallas Cowboys (4-2, +4): The Cowboys are rolling right now, winning 3 in a row. Is it against the greatest competition? No, but you have to beat the teams you should. The defense is improving and Dak is one of the top passers in the league. This team certainly has holes, but their strength in their passing game is top tier.   15. New York Jets (4-2, +4): The Jets are coming off of a huge win against the Broncos, in a game many did not expect them to win. Not only did they have their usual dominant ground game, but Justin Fields tossed 5 touchdowns. I am not sure we will expect fields to play like this every week, but if he can do this once in a while they are dangerous.   16. Atlanta Falcons (3-2, +4): Who would have thought that Penix would win the battle of quarterbacks with Josh Allen. Penix was almost perfect throwing the ball, while throwing for over 350 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Allen threw for similar yards but 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Both offenses were great, however, the interceptions were the catalyst for the 10 point win. If Penix can keep the turnovers down, and the defense can force a few a game, the Falcons are gonna fly high over this division.   17. Baltimore Ravens (3-3, +4): Mark limits the turnovers for Lamar Jackson, throwing only 13 times for 122 yards, which is a good thing especially when they picked up the win at home. Derrick Henry had vintage Derrick Henry game going for 159 yards and a score on the ground. These are the type of games the Ravens will need to keep Lamar’s abilities while also competing for a playoff spot.   18. Cincinnati Bengals (2-4, +13): CPU Burrow has led the Bengals to two straight victories throwing 8 touchdowns in the pair of games. Word on the street is hes very difficult to stop. Can they remain afloat until a new coach is named? I could only hope so, it would be a shame to see a top team neglected and relegated to the gutter before they even get a coach.   19. Green Bay Packers (2-3, -7): Frustrating times in Green Bay as they have lost all 3 games by less than a score against some of the top talent in PML. Cruz has proven he could play with the best, but does he have enough to get over the hump and truly show out as a contender?   20. Detroit Lions (2-4, -4): Nef gets back in the win column by bullying the helpless Chiefs around and picking off Pat Mahomes 5 times this past week. Jared Goff had a monster game with 247 yards and 4 touchdown passes. There was even an Amon-Ra St. Brown sighting this past week as the x-factor wide receiver finally found the end zone for the first time this season.   21. New England Patriots (3-3, -10): The Patriots drop 10 spots after giving the Saints their first win of the season. The biggest issue in that game was their defense, allowing Tyler Shough to carve them up. They fall to 3-3 and still are very much alive in the AFC East, but that is a game I think they Patriots would say they should win.   22. Buffalo Bills (3-3, -7): The bills fall to 3-3 after a 48-38 loss to The Atlanta Falcons. The offense played ok, but the defense was absolutely shredded. Michael Penix only threw 3 incompletions, while Atlanta also rushed for 160 yards. They have a bye week to regroup before a very winnable stretch of games.   23. Miami Dolphins (2-3, -): Miami is having some trouble scheduling their game, so we await the result of their week 6 game. Week 7 they play the Browns, which will be a pivotal game for both teams. The Dolphins have struggled on defense while the Browns have struggled on offense. If the Dolphins can remain explosive on offense, they can be a dangerous team.   24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4, -1): Huge win for the Buccaneers to keep pace with the Falcons. Baker with 5 touchdowns, interceptions, and almost 500 passing yards commanded the game. It’s crazy to think that even with this stat line that they almost lost this game. The offense is actually one of the best in the league scoring 37 points per game, however the defense is literally one of the worst giving up 40 points per game. That’s not sustainable, and it’s concerning because the players don’t suck. The scheme has to change and change quickly.   25. Las Vegas Raiders (2-4, -1): Beast’s Raiders snapped back with a 48-42 shootout win over the Titans. Geno’s spreading the ball, Jeanty’s pounding the rock, and Crosby’s still a problem — just need the defense to catch up   26. Tennessee Titans (2-4, -1): One step forward, six steps back for the Titans. You get a great win against the Cardinals only to lose to a Raiders team with only one win. The offense played a great game but the defense is just not there. All the offense in the world doesn’t matter if you can’t play defense and that’s how it is going for the Titans even in their wins. Ward needs some help and the Titans need to make a change soon otherwise they will be scouting the draft instead of their opponents sooner rather than later.   27. San Francisco 49ers (2-4, -1): Purdy’s tossed 15 TDs and Kittle’s still elite, but the defense keeps leaking points. Rookie TE Devin Culp was a spark with 2 TDs in his debut, yet AntDawg’s squad is still searching for steady footing.   28. Los Angeles Chargers (2-3, -1):Sweatoholic’s Bolts are hanging tough, but inconsistency is the killer. Herbert keeps them in games, but until the defense tightens, it’s uphill in the AFC West.   29. Los Angeles Rams (1-5, -): spawn Rams can sling it — Stafford leads the league in passing yards — but the defense is giving up a league-worst 41 ppg. Until the stops come, it’s fireworks in losses.   30. New Orleans Saints (1-5, -): The Saints finally get into the win column this season. They played a pretty good game last week and were finally ready to get over the hump in the one. Clearly the suspension didn’t matter as Jones and Miller ran for over 100 yards. It also goes to show what can finally come out of a balanced approach. The defense was able to force some turnovers which is all it takes in a close game to win. At 1-5 in most divisions you would be out of it, however, in the NFC South, the Saints are just a few games out of first place. They have to keep this same gameplan going forward.   31. Carolina Panthers (0-6, -): The Panthers have been keeping it close for most of their games this season, and this was a true test to see if they had what it takes to keep up with a good team. They failed the test. The Cowboys did whatever they wanted on offense while forcing 4 Bryce Young interceptions. Young was actually having a decent season coming into this game, but clearly he isn’t ready to lead the team to victory. Unfortunately at 0-6, the season isn’t over especially given the division in its current form but unless they win out, it looks like the draft is what the fans in Carolina have to look for. The good news is that Coach JT usually finds his quarterback in the first draft and that’s the catalyst for the turnaround. I would expect the same this cycle.   32. Kansas City Chiefs (0-6, -3):Mike’s Chiefs are still searching for their first win. Bright side? Nowhere to go but up
